Stranded ice along the western margin of the Kennicott Glacier following the release of impounded meltwater beneath the ice. With an increase in water depth, the hydrostatic pressure exerts sufficient force on the ice at the base to deform it by plastic flow. An exponential rise in water discharge occurs resulting in a sudden release of the impounded water in a matter of hours. Hidden Creek Lake.
